The Valuetrex VX05-20BB (Part #1227868-V-BB) is a 5-micron, 20-inch x 4.5-inch sediment water filter designed for high-capacity "Big Blue" housings. Made of spun polypropylene, this cartridge removes sediment, rust, and dirt, protecting downstream filters and appliances. It fits 20" x 4.5" housings.
Valuetrex manufactures sediment filters to fit the specifications for almost any water filtration system. 1227868-V-BB Sediment filters are used in reverse osmosis and filtration systems, and should always be used as a pre filter for UV Filters. If a sediment filter is not used in as a pre-filter to a UV system, bacteria and other contaminants can "piggy back" the sediment in the water, which keeps the UV from being most effective.

Applications: Ideal for sediment reduction in whole-house water systems and as a pre-filter.
