A 5/8" Compression x 1/2" FPT (Female Pipe Thread) brass adapter is a plumbing fitting used to transition between a 5/8" outer diameter (OD) tube and a 1/2" male threaded pipe or fixture. In standard plumbing terms, a 5/8" OD compression connection is typically used to fit onto 1/2" nominal copper pipe (which measures 5/8" on the outside). Brass Compression Fittings are designed for use on Tubing such as Copper, Brass, Aluminum, Soft Stainless, LLDPE Poly Tube. The compression sizes are based on the O.D of the Tubing. Poly Tubing requires the use of a Tube Support/Insert and Delrin Compression Sleeve
