When should I choose an anodized aluminum VersaCheck over a PVC model?

Anodized aluminum models (A-series) provide higher structural burst tolerances and extreme thread durability, making them ideal for high-vibration manifolds and structural pipe circuits. PVC models (P-series) offer total chemical inertness, fully eliminating galvanic corrosion risks in clean-in-place sanitizing networks.

Can VersaCheck valves be installed vertically?

Yes. VersaCheck dual check valve assemblies are engineered to function flawlessly in any orientation, allowing for tight vertical, horizontal, or angled installations inside crowded beverage cabinetry.

VersaCheck Dual Check BackFlow Preventers

Q: What is the difference between ASSE 1024 and ASSE 1032 certifications?

ASSE 1024 governs dual check valves used to protect standard potable water lines from non-health hazard pollutants. ASSE 1032 specifically regulates dual check backflow preventers installed on carbonated beverage dispensers to prevent corrosive carbonic acid backpressure from ruining copper plumbing lines.

Safeguard your commercial facility water assets and restaurant equipment loops with certified VersaCheck Dual Check Valve Backflow Preventers. Engineered to stop backsiphonage and backpressure contamination in potable lines, these 100% lead-free valves are available in high-strength hard-coat anodized aluminum and chemical-resistant PVC configurations. Meeting strict ASSE 1024, ASSE 1032, NSF 61, and NSF 372 standards, the VersaCheck family provides low pressure drop and high flow volumes across coffee, espresso, and fountain carbonator networks.

VersaCheck Certified Potable Water Backflow Protection

Certified Mechanical Safety for Food Service & Plumbing Lines

The VersaCheck Dual Check Valve Backflow Preventer lineage delivers reliable, certified utility isolation across residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing architectures. Independently certified by QAI Laboratories, these inline valves satisfy strict ASSE 1024, ASSE 1032, NSF 61, and NSF 372 low-lead compliance parameters. By establishing two independent, spring-loaded containment barriers back-to-back, VersaCheck units continuously protect municipal drinking water reservoirs from unexpected line backsiphonage and carbonator-driven backpressure surges.

Important Installation and Thread Requirements:

When plumbing VersaCheck Female NPT ports to structural copper, PEX, or flexible beverage tubing adapters, apply exactly 2 to 3 wraps of premium PTFE plumbers thread tape to the connecting male adapters. For PVC variants (P-series), do not wrench-torque metallic male fittings past snug. Over-tightening rigid metal threads into composite plastic ports creates high mechanical hoop stress that can split the thread bank casing. Always align fittings straight by hand before engaging tools to prevent cross-threading the channel walls.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What is the difference between ASSE 1024 and ASSE 1032 certifications?

A: ASSE 1024 covers dual check valves designed to isolate standard potable lines from non-health hazard plumbing cross-connections. ASSE 1032 is a specialized, food-service standard that specifically regulates dual check backflow preventers installed on post-mix carbonated beverage dispensers to prevent pressurized carbonic acid water from travelling backward into building copper water networks.

Q: When should I select a PVC VersaCheck model over a hard-coat anodized aluminum model?

A: Choose hard-coat anodized aluminum (A-series) if your layout requires high structural burst limits and superior thread wear life on high-vibration manifolds. Opt for PVC (P-series) if you are working in environments that use aggressive clean-in-place sanitizers or require 100% non-metallic wetted paths to eliminate any long-term galvanic corrosion or pitting risks.

Q: Can VersaCheck dual check valve assemblies be mounted vertically?

A: Yes. VersaCheck inline backflow safety valves utilize an internal spring-loaded cartridge mechanism that functions independently of gravity. They can be installed vertically, horizontally, or at any custom angle to accommodate restrictive equipment configurations inside compact restaurant cabinets.
