Q: Will this filter connect directly to my 3/8" water line?

A: No. The K2551-C/C-JJ features integrated 1/4" quick-connect fittings molded into the cap. If your filtration system or refrigerator uses 3/8" outside-diameter tubing, you will need the Omnipure K2551-C/C-KK instead.

Q: Does this filter remove chlorine taste, odors, or chemical contaminants?

A: No. This is a dedicated remineralization and pH stabilization filter containing 100% neutralizing mineral media (Calcite/Corosex). It does not contain carbon. If you need taste, odor, and chlorine reduction alongside mild pH correction, look for a carbon/calcite blend like the K2551-BB.

Q: Why is my water cloudy or white immediately after installing the filter?

A: This is completely normal. The cloudiness is caused by harmless, trapped air bubbles and loose mineral fines shedding from the new Calcite and Corosex media. Make sure to flush the filter with 3 to 5 gallons of water prior to initial use. The water will clear up completely after a day or two of normal operation.

Q: Can I use this filter on a hot water line?

A: No. This filter is strictly rated for cold water applications only. The maximum allowable operating temperature is 100°F (38°C). Exceeding this temperature can damage the cartridge housing and cause structural failure or leaks.
